Where has the time gone? I felt like I should give a little update. There may not be anyone who even reads this but I want to do it for me. So anywho..I have just started my last and final semester of the Bachelor's program...YAY! I have to say it has already been a stressful event. Haha..I think I might have to miss the first day of class because of my dumb work schedule. BOO!! But I am excited and ready to get the ball moving and get my degree!

The Summer Update..

Sheesh! The summer sure does fly by but we have done some fun things this summer.

First..I have had a few bike rides. My first one was in May. Terra, Kylee, and I did 50 miles around Layton area for Cinco De Mayo. We had a lot of headwind and that really took a toll on our energy but we finished and I even won a shirt! (I never win anything). My next race was Little Red. I rode with Terra, Kylee, and her friend Amber! We rode 70 miles around the Logan area. It was a beautiful ride and we had fun camping out in our tent the night before the race! We actually woke up to rain but needless to say, we finished and that is all I cared about! :) My next ride was in August and we did 35 miles up in Mountain Green. That was also a fun ride and it was just me and Kylee! We hadn't been training as much as we would have liked for that one so the 35 miles was perfect for us. Our only preparation was our pasta dinner at Brick Oven the night before..oops! hahah..

Second...Kyle has been playing in lots of golf tournaments with some buddies from work. He has done pretty well and has taken 1st and 2nd a couple of times. His favorite was when he won first place and they didn't even get a prize! Who does that??

Third..I went to Girls Camp for the first time as a leader! I guess our stake always does camp as a stake instead of every other year as a ward. (I'm not sure why). So we went up with all the other wards to Camp Woodland up in Morgan. It was definitely all that I remember it as. The songs, the cooking, the tents, the river running, and of course the testimony meeting. I actually got to listen to my old neighbor Meg Johnson speak and she did an AMAZING job! She really brought the spirit and the girls loved her. She is awesome! It was a good experience and I was able to bond with the girls but I was definitely glad to get home and get into the shower and sleep in my bed!

And of course..we did some of the summer have-to's! We have had a couple of bbq's with friends, fireworks (oh man, that day was fun! We had kids shooting fireworks at our car, so we enjoyed them off the side of the road instead!), went to the fair, swimming at the in-laws, and we even checked out the farmers market for the first time this last week. I really enjoyed it. We have also been busy with birthdays...Kyle's sisters, mom, step-dad, my dad, and the best of all is coming soon! Kyle is going to be 27!!!! Man, he is getting old!

Here are only a few pictures...

First.....Malena and Lance had their baby....baby Cache!!! Woo hoo!!! He is the cutest thing and I am so happy for them. They are going to be the best parents!! I am so lucky to have such great friends and examples in my life! They amaze me all of the time how great they are! I look up to them so much!!

Second...I got a new job!!! To be honest, I'm not really sure if this change is good or not! haha...Unfortunately, my favorite job in the world (working at Alpine Plastic Surgery) was hit by the economy and because I hadn't been there too long I was put on PRN status (basically, just working if they needed someone to cover). So that meant I had to go looking for another job where I would be getting more like full-time hours. So, after a few weeks off and a lot of relaxing and watching movies. I decided to apply to Davis Hospital. With all the not-so-good luck with finding a job before, I didn't think I would even be considered because I have never worked in a hospital before. But I was called in for an interview and a week later, I was offered the position. So I am working on the inpatient rehab/medical unit, full-time. I am still in the orienting phase and I tried taking on a couple of patients of my own and I felt like I never went to nursing school. haha.. I was running around like crazy. But I have learned a lot already and I know I will continue to learn from here. It will be a change adjusting to working weekends and holidays (oh yeah and the whole going to work at 3 am and 12 hour shift thing) but it will all be okay. That is what I am telling myself anyway. :)

I am looking forward to 2012...having my BSN, doing some remodeling to the house, and whatever else life feels like bringing to us!! HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-43448232328996046812011-10-03T11:32:00.000-07:002011-10-03T11:32:54.727-07:00Anniversary and Wonder WomanWe had our 2nd Anniversary in August and we celebrated by having a couples massage in the morning and then we drove down to Salt Lake to do some shopping at the Gateway and go to dinner! It ended up being a really relaxing day but it was nice to have that! I only got one picture of us at the Clark Planetarium. We walked through that while we waited for dinner time!

In September, I completed my first road bike race!! My friend Kylee and I went down to Payson for the Wonder Woman ride and we never thought our day would turn out like it did but it was well worth it. We started the race about 9:30 (we were supposed to start at 8:30) or so and we didn't finish till 4:00. We rode 60 miles and had a lot of fun and troubles along the way. First off, we knew they would have aid stations every so many miles but somehow we missed the first one so we went about 30 miles before coming to a station. We were really unprepared for that. We had ate that morning around 6:30 or 7:00 and we didn't have anything till 1:00 and when you are on a bike that it WAY too long. Let's just say we were running out of energy! All we saw was more and more road and no signs. Luckily there was this nice man on the side of the road that was in his car, he had all his cycling gear on so we thought we would ask him if he knew where the next aid station was. He said just about 5 miles and I think he could tell we were exhausted so he gave us some energy bars to get us to the station. He really saved us!!

When we got to the rest stop and "scarfed" our food. We took a good 20 minutes there getting our energy back. We got a picture with the Wonder Woman, hoping she could get us through the race. We were already so behind but we were determined to finish. Right after we had some lunch it started to downpour and let me tell you riding in the rain on a bike is no fun. Then, the hail came and luckily there was a lady waiting for her friends and offered to let us sit in her car to wait for the storm to pass. Turns out this was the wife of the guy that had helped us with the energy bars earlier. We waited for about 25 -30 minutes in the car and then started on our way again. We had to get a picture with these lifesavers of ours! There was no way we could have done it without them.

The last half of our ride we were pushing ourselves! We wanted to give up, it was cold and we still had so far to go but we kept with it!! We had the volunteers checking up on us every so often and had some aid stations with milk, cookies, fruit, drinks, etc. to help us make it through. About 5 miles to the end, I got a flat tire but those volunteers changed my tire and we were back on our way. And we finally finished!! Oh man, the feeling I got when I crossed the finish line was relief and accomplishment that I actually finished. It was a great day, I was sore and tired but I would definitely do it again! It was great!

So bear with me, I'm going to do a little catch up! At the end of July, me and Kyle made our annual trip up to Star Valley, WY with my family. It was a blast!! This year my parents rented a house that was right where we used to go all the time growing up, it was beautiful and so relaxing! We went up with my parents and then my brother and his girlfriend came up a day later and stayed for the weekend! It was so fun to have them there! We did a lot of fun things...we love going to this restaurant for breakfast in Afton, WY. It's just a little restaurant but it has the BEST breakfast!
My favorite part and probably the most eventful was the river rafting! We went up to Jackson Hole before the ride and had some lunch and did some shopping! We ate at this really good restaurant called the Merry Piglets. The eventful part was when we got to the river rafting place, it started to get really overcast and cold, even though right before it was sunny and warm. And right as we were loading the raft into the water it started to downpour. We heard thunder and I was terrified. Plus, we had just heard all of the stories about how high the water was and our tour guide actually said his last raft flipped completely over and everyone fell out except for him. So..needless to say I was hanging on for dear life! It was an adventure I'll tell you! We got soaked but it was fun!!

One of my favorite parts of Star Valley is coming home through Bear Lake and stopping for a raspberry shake. We couldn't pass it up even though it was pouring and we wanted to get home fast we had to stop! (Note: don't drive through Logan canyon when its pouring rain, I thought we were going to die) We made it home and we had such a great time! Can't wait till next year!!

He is a cocker/springer spaniel mix and we got him around the first of June when he was about 8 weeks old so he is about 12 weeks old now! I knew the time would come to get a dog soon after we got into our house because Kyle loves dogs and couldn't wait to have a yard and a fence of our own so that we could finally have a dog! But, it has definitely been a change for us, a good change! We kinda feel like we got a good glimpse of what it would be like as parents (probably not at all the same but kind of right??!!) :) He has definitely been a fun new addition to the family! Kyle has been working his training skills and Hank can now do the basic tricks like sit, shake, lay down, and roll over. We are still working on the biting and potty training but we will get there!! Hopefully! :)
Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-66336656463746849192011-06-17T09:31:00.000-07:002011-06-17T09:31:19.348-07:00We've Moved!!!
That's right! We finally have a house of our own!!! We are so excited! We moved at the end of May, so we have been living in our house for about 3 weeks now!! Moving was a lot of work but I feel like we are finally settled in and I can't wait to start updates, decorating, etc. Our house is in Clinton so we are a little far away from family and friends but it hasn't been too bad!! Here are a few pictures:

We are excited to start some projects to hopefully make our house feel even more like home! Some of our projects are going to be: first, taking down the HUGE tree in the front yard. It basically covers half of the house! ha! Then hopefully we can start updates on the bathroom and kitchen! :) Anyway, we have loved our new neighborhood! Our neighbors are SO nice! I was a little nervous moving out to a new neighborhood, we almost felt like tourist for a little bit, but they have made it so easy! According to Kyle, all we need now is a dog!! I'll keep you updated!! :)Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-22482875589298780112011-05-02T17:32:00.000-07:002011-05-02T17:34:45.258-07:00{Update..}There has been a lot of good things that have happened lately!! We could not feel more blessed! It's just amazing how things always work out and there is really no reason to be as worried and stressed as we (maybe me mostly) are. Because everything will be okay!! We have been having problems with a car that we bought for Kyle. We bought the car in March and it was in the shop for a month, we just barely got it back last week. We had to get a new engine and catalytic converter. Let's just say it was going to cost around $4000 - $5000 to fix. I was stressed! We didn't have this kind of money, what were we going to do?? But luckily Kyle, with his selling abilities, got the dealership that we got the car from and Nissan to pay for the whole repair!! I could not have been happier! Blessed! In other good news, I have been accepted to the Bachelor's nursing program at Weber State! I start in the fall! I am nervous to go back to school but I am excited to keep learning more!! I love to learn and I just hope I can keep my motivation! But until I start school I am definitely looking forward to the spring (finally) and summer. All the camping, road trips, bbq's, warm nights, and tan lines...doesn't that sound nice??!! Now for the best news of all!!! Baby Dakota is here!!! He is such a cutie!!

Terra and Daniel are the best parents to this cute guy!!! I am so glad they let us come to the hospital and to their house so we can hold him and see him! They are such amazing friends, examples, and parents and we can't wait to see him grow up and see his personality!! There has been a lot of baby talk among my friends and family and I can't help but become a little baby hungry!! :) Don't worry I'm not pregnant! I need to get through school first but now I just can't help looking at the baby section when I go to the mall! :)
Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-70462611191745850042011-03-04T14:59:00.000-08:002011-03-04T15:04:22.798-08:00Change is good...Well I think??? So...I'm going to do a little venting today! Sorry! I came home many days in tears and feeling very down...I thought maybe I shouldn't be a nurse..maybe this isn't me! I wanted to help each patient the best that I could but I felt no matter how hard I worked or how hard I wanted to be good at something...I wasn't!! And as a result, it made it hard to go to work EVERYDAY! With me getting a new job at Alpine Surgical Center, I was also working around 45 to 50 hours a week. Needless to say...I was STRESSED!! So after a few months of my busy schedule, I quit my job at the pediatric office! Today was my last day! I can't say that I wanted to quit because I never have quit a job without having something else full time! Also, I didn't want to feel defeated by this! I knew I could do it but it was just taking a lot for me to feel comfortable doing my job..and I didn't like that..So, I hope that this new change will give me the confidence to continue working as a nurse. I honestly can't see myself doing anything else! I have always wanted to be in healthcare and hope that this new change brings some much needed happiness! So I don't have another job yet, but I will be working at least 2 days at Alpine coming up when a nurse goes on maternity leave! I know this change was good and I hope that I can continue working on my career as a nurse with maybe just a little less stress!! :)Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-88940240837920915482011-01-17T21:18:00.000-08:002011-01-17T21:18:57.805-08:00Have you ever???Listened to the words of this song:
I know we sure did!
We love this time of year because we are surrounded by lots and lots of very wonderful people! We are so blessed to have such fantastic friends and family, we don't know what we would do without them! We laughed SO much, I think we burned off a little of that holiday weight! It was a blast! With the annual cookie making, parties with friends and family, playing LOTS of games, and eating WAY too much food....I don't know what we are going to do with our time now that the holidays are over! It always goes by too fast! But it was great!
This year for Christmas, Kyle and I decided that we wouldn't do gifts for each other so we could spend more on the gifts for our families!! We had a lot of fun trying to find the perfect gift for everyone! I think we did a pretty good job and it was great to be able to give a little more this year! Our Christmas celebrations started the Sunday before with Kyle's mom! We always go up there for a yummy dinner and to exchange gifts. We have a lot of family to visit on Christmas so it's nice to be able to spend the whole night with them rather than rushing from place to place on Christmas! On Christmas Eve, we went to my family's party where we exchanged white elephant gifts and ate yummy food! Christmas Day Kyle and I woke up and opened our stockings, then headed over to my parent's house to open our gifts from them. After that we went over to Kyle's dad's house and opened gifts with them. Then it was off to my Grandma's house for lunch! It was nice this year because we had a little bit of time to take a nap before we went to Ky's Grandma's house! Even though it is a little chaotic for us on Christmas we love all the time we had with our family!

New Year's Eve was another time for us to be with family and to laugh and play lots of fun games, which we LOVE to do! We went up to Kyle's mom's house for the night! His mom and step-dad put on the best New Year's party! They have tons of snacks and we play board games, poker, and other little games that you can even win money! It's SO much fun!
New Year's is always a great time to reflect on life and make goals to help us grow and I love that about this holiday!! I realize how blessed and grateful I am for all that has happened. In 2010....

Kyle and I had our first wedding anniversary!
I graduated Nursing school!
We got to go back to the Philippines!
and have made new friends!

In 2011...I hope to..

Get our own house! (and for Kyle that means getting a dog too!)
Go back to school for my Bachelor's Degree!
and Spend more time on others!

I can't wait for what this year is bringing! New babies and new beginnings! Hope you all had a great 2010 but will have an even better 2011!!Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-17999591336677535542010-12-12T11:44:00.000-08:002010-12-12T13:01:03.923-08:00Our early Christmas present! This year for Christmas, Kyle's mom and step-dad took us back to Kyle's mission in the Philippines!!! We had a blast and we are so grateful for his family's kindness in taking us back there!! Between the long flights, our car breaking down, his step-dad getting sick we had the good times of talking with THEE nicest people in the world, seeing all the CUTE kids and spending time with the people that Kyle had taught and baptized. We all knew it was going to be an adventure but it will definitely be an adventure we will never forget...EVER!! We had a TON of pictures that would never all fit in this post so it will just be some of the highlights of our trip!

To start off, we took one out of our two LONG flights!! We were all a little nervous because the day we were supposed to fly out it was the big blizzard warning. Luckily, it wasn't as bad as everyone was thinking so our flight only got delayed about an hour and a half. Which wasn't bad but only left us a few minutes to catch our connecting flight from LAX to Korea. We ran our butts off but we made it!!!

We finally made it to the Philippines! It's been a LONG time!I can't believe how long it has been since I've updated my blog!!! Holy Cow!! I hope from now on I can keep up with this, but I can't promise anything! :) Just be forewarned this is going to be a LONG post! Well, hmmm I don't really know where to start! Me and Kyle had a GREAT summer...packed with vacations, bbq's, and fun times with friends and family!!! One of our favorite vacations was to Star Valley/Jackson Hole with my mom and dad. We rented a condo right on a golf course and stayed for a weekend. It was definitely action packed. We started off with a round of golf (of course) and then did some fishing and biking. But my favorite part was the white water rafting! I had never been before and was SO excited (although a little nervous, my dad even showed me a newspaper article an hour we were supposed to load the boat of a guy that had drowned on the river, THANKS DAD..real comforting!! haha) I don't have any pictures of the rafting because I didn't take my camera but it was a BLAST! The river was pretty shallow so the biggest rapid was not there but we had a lot of fun being in the front and paddling our guts out! My arms were SO tired!!

Kyle fishing.

In August, we celebrated our 1 year anniversary!!!! I honestly can't believe it's already been a year!! It has been definitely a great year, even with all the ups and downs!! I have learned so much about Kyle and about myself!! I have learned that no matter what hard times may come, it will always end up OK! I have also learned that dishes, laundry, and other chores are not going to magically get done on their own! And if you want your husband to help out with those chores, you have to tell him and not just wish he would do them! I've learned I'm not a good cook. I can't keep the house clean longer than a day...but I'm trying!! :) I can't wait to learn more about Kyle and myself and for the many more of memories together! To celebrate we went up to Park City and stayed at the Canyons resort! We went to dinner at Squatters and then did some shopping the next day at the outlets. It was good to get away for a night and celebrate!!

September we celebrated Kyle's 25th birthday!!!! Half-a-century old...WOW!!! jk babe. He had a great day! I had to work unfortunately...I would have liked to spend the day with him but I couldn't get off!! Oh well! Anyway, I gave him his presents the night before so that he could use his new fishing net when he went! So while I was at work he went fishing and just relaxed. Then we met his family for a movie then went to dinner at Famous Dave's!!

As for other updates...

Kyle is still working as an insurance agent and is loving every minute of it! He gets to meet so many people and gets to be his own boss! Who wouldn't love that!

I just got a new job at Alpine Surgical Center as there Recovery nurse! I have been there for about 3 weeks now and I just work one day a week, so I'm still working at the pediatric clinic the other days! I love my new job..everyone is super nice!! I'm still looking for another position at the hospital but it has been really hard to find the right job for me! The right job will come when it's time though!!

We are both getting really excited for our trip to the Philippines in November. Kyle's parents are taking us back to his mission and we can't wait! I think Kyle is more excited than I am...don't get me wrong I'm excited to spend some time on the beach and do some snorkeling and hiking but I'm a little nervous for the 23 hour flight there and for the crazy foods, cars, and bugs! I'm sure we will have a blast!! I will let you know when I get back!! :)

I love this time of year!! The sweatshirt weather, soups, football games, and Halloween!!! I love Halloween...I love the decorations, the dressing up, seeing all the kids out on Halloween night with their bags of candy and costumes..can't get enough of it!! I think Kyle likes it mostly for the upcoming Jazz season! He can't wait...he is trying to get us to get cable so he won't miss a single game! He is a funny guy!! ha..

Well hopefully it won't be as long before I update, I'll try! :) But we hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-83507640687501946722010-06-17T20:35:00.001-07:002010-06-17T21:29:27.390-07:00Good News & Las Vegas..Last weekend was very exciting for me! After 2 years of school and many hours of studying and reviewing, I sat for my RN state boards! I had even tried sneaking in some last minute study time the night before (I know..something you shouldn't do the night before a big test..but I couldn't help myself :) ) and I still did not feel confident at all that I would pass! I was SO nervous! But I went to the testing center the next day...got fingerprints taken...read/listened to the instructions they gave me..walked in and sat down in my little cubical..and took many deep breaths..then off I went! 2 hours and 1oo questions later...the computer screen shuts off!! (Don't worry it does that when you are finished...but if you're really good it only gives you about 75 questions..if you are on the borderline of passing they give you more to see how you do..so needless to say I was freaking out!!) I was so terrified...my eyes started filling with tears immediately..I thought for sure I wasn't going to pass! I was SO disappointed with myself! Anyway..after many hours of checking the state website (or any other way I could to see if I passed)....I PASSED!! Phew...It was such a relief! We won almost $200. It was awesome! We probably spent an hour or two just on that machine! hahah...but it was well worth it..anyway that night we had tickets to go to the Lion King! AMAZING!! I loved it...we couldn't get a good picture with all the people but it was so fun!! It was so fun to enjoy the nice weather and some free time!! To celebrate..we went on a hike up to Waterfall Canyon! It was so nice...we took my family's dog Jack up there and we all had a blast..(Well maybe it wasn't the first thing Kyle had on his list to celebrate the nice weather..he would have much rather been golfing or fishing but he was a good sport!!) I'm so glad that it's getting warmer..I can't wait to do many more outdoor activities!!!

I also had some fun doing a craft project over the weekend. That's all. :)Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-83687096179568303472010-04-08T15:16:00.000-07:002010-04-08T15:36:04.926-07:00A few little things about Nursing school...First of all...15 more days until graduation!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am! I have learned so much during the past two years...it has been the hardest thing I have had to do as well as the most satisfying!!! Here are a few little things about Nursing school..

*When they tell you to not work more than 24 hours a week...DON'T!!!!! It will drive you crazy!!

*When they said it was going to be challenging...I never thought it would include spending every second of every day studying just so I could pass a test, NEVER getting enough sleep, NEVER having homework completely done, understanding and memorizing a bagillion medications, pathophysiology, lab values...and the list could go on and on..

*But they did say it was rewarding and man is it EVER!!! I have to admit when I first started the Nursing program, I didn't think being a nurse was something that I wanted to do at all!! But over the past two years I have experienced some pretty cool things! Patient's thanking the nurses for the care they have given them and how much they appreciate them. Also, seeing the patient walk off the unit because you were a part of getting them healthier...it couldn't be more exciting!

But most of all, the most important thing that I have learned from Nursing is that no matter what we can do anything if we put all of our strength and energy into something! I had struggled with nursing from day one and now with 15 days left till graduation, I passed my exit exam and now I'm on to take the NCLEX!!! I never thought that this day would ever come but I'm so happy to finally see the end of it and see the results of all the hard work!! Hopefully within a couple of months I will be an RN!! :) YAY!!

Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-82698643379627388202010-02-26T22:56:00.000-08:002010-02-26T23:06:27.128-08:00Birthday!!!So it was my 23rd birthday this past Wednesday...man do I feel old!!! Hahah...just kidding! But it was such a great day!! Me and Kyle both had the day off..YES...so we woke up and went to breakfast at Jeremiah's (yummy!!) then went to see "Shutter Island" (creepy! haha) After the movie, I had to go do some things with my dad but after we went over to my parents house to watch the jazz game and have pizza! It was just a laid back day, my brother and mom were gone so we are going to do the big celebration sometime this weekend, but I loved it!! It's so true that once you get older they just aren't that exciting anymore, but I still enjoyed having one day out of the year that my husband has to do whatever I want to do!! hahah..thanks hunny!! Anyway, life is still crazy for me! I'm so close to being done with school...next week I start my preceptor and then after that is done I will only have about 3 weeks left!! YAY!! I can't wait...It's been such a long process and I'm ready for a break!! Anyway, I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!! :)Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-36831824788815240052010-02-04T15:19:00.000-08:002010-02-04T15:52:37.255-08:00GO JAZZ!!!

We had the opportunity to go to a couple of Jazz games within the last week and we had such a blast! Kyle is such an avid Jazz fan and he rarely misses a game...so for me it is actually fun going to the games than just watching them on TV. There is something about being there in person that I love...I love the atmosphere, the entertainment, and the energy of all the fans!! (especially when it's a close game!!) And it's especially fun when the Jazz actually win! I can't believe how well they have been doing! It's great, because when the Jazz win I have a happy husband!! So thank you Jazz for playing like you have and I will continue cheering you on!! GO JAZZ!!Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-48759294408641721222010-01-02T20:21:00.000-08:002010-01-12T22:00:37.031-08:00Happy Holidays!!Wow! But me and Kyle had fun!! We didn't go too crazy on Christmas this year but we both got stuff we wanted. Kyle got some new shoes and a couple shirts and a hat of his favorite football team..The Bengals!! For me, I got a chi straightner (I love it!!), a fondue pot, a piano (I opened that early because I accidentally saw it in the back of Kyle's car) , and perfume!

Kyle opening his presents!!
Me..opening mine! After opening presents on our own, we went over to my parents house to open presents with them and have breakfast! I had this great idea to make sticky buns to take over so the night before I got them all ready but I accidentally put them in the fridge instead of leaving them out on the counter to rise! (Dumb I know!!) So needless to say, they didn't work out! I was a little sad but it was okay! After my parents, we went over to Kyle's dad's house and opened presents with them!! We definitely got spoiled by our parents!! They are so kind and we were so grateful for their kindness!! Then we made the rounds to my grandma's house and my grandpa's house! Then we met up with Kyle's mom and family at the movie! We went to see Sherlock Holmes and it was really good! After the movie, we went to Kyle's grandma's house! She always has a fun way to open our gifts..I had to search through all of this paper that was rolled up and had one side that looked like 10 and 50 dollar bills...my America First experience definitely came in handy! The third roll I picked up was the real thing!! After that we stopped at another grandma's house and talked with them for a while and finally went home after 12 hours of being away! We were exhausted and we couldn't wait to just be at home to relax!! It was a great way to spend our holiday...with family!! After a few days of work..it was time for another long weekend! I love those, and it was a fabulous way to bring in the New Year!!

New Year's Eve we went over to Kyle's mom's house..she has a party mostly every year at her house and everyone brings a fun game and a snack to share and they just spend all night playing games and having fun!! We had such a good time with his family and Kyle actually won $100 in a poker game! He was pretty excited!! We didn't get home till about 3 in the morning but it was a blast! I'm excited for the New Year!! 2009 was great..I got married!! But 2010 will be even better!! Kyle has made his New Year's resolution to learn Spanish (he got Rosetta Stone for Christmas) and I am going to keep motivated about work and being there on time! (I hope I can do it!!) But anyway...sorry about the long post and I hope all of you had a great holiday and best wishes for the new year!!

Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-53246627688466134422009-12-20T11:01:00.000-08:002009-12-20T11:27:27.264-08:00Fun Weekend!!Me and Kyle had such a good weekend!! I can't believe that it is already over! I guess it's what they say "Time flies when you're having fun!" Anyway...On Friday we both had to work late so after work we headed down to the Junction for Kyle's friend's birthday party! They were just at Fat Cats doing some bowling and we just chatted for a minute and then decided to just go home and relax...which is the best way to end the day in my mind! :) Then on Saturday we got up early and met our friends to do a session at the temple!! It was so fun to have all of my friends there!! They are all so amazing and such great examples to me!! After the temple they were going to go to lunch but I had to rush off to my annual family candy making party! I love our tradition! Every year my family gets together to make a bunch of candy for families and friends!! We have been doing this ever since I can remember! My grandma started this tradition and we have just kept it going!! I love it!! We make chocolate covered pretzels, fudge, "magic bars," peanut butter kiss cookies (that's my mom's specialty!), toffee, divinity, gingersnap cookies, and other fun things like covering ice cream cones with green colored frosting to look like trees, or dipping plastic spoons in chocolate to put in your hot chocolate to make it extra chocolatey!!!! It is all SO good and I wish I had pictures to show how much candy we made!! I brought a bunch home and I have no idea how we are going to eat it all! If we did we probably would gain a good 20 pounds!! But it was so fun to spend time with my family, they all make me laugh and I love the memories that we make every year at this time!! After cookie and candy making, we had my work Christmas party! We went to the Zucca restaurant and I have to say it was REALLY good! If you haven't been there I recommend it!! I got salmon and Kyle got steak and they were both great!! (It might have helped that I didn't have to pay for it but it was still pretty good!!) After our Christmas party, we went over to my parent's house for a while just to say hi and to see my dog jack!! My mom took him to get his haircut and they made him look like a girl poodle!! haha...it is pretty funny, good thing his hair grows fast!! hahah...and to top of the weekend we have Kyle's mom's side of Christmas today and I can't wait!! It is so fun to be with family!! P.S. I can't believe that Christmas is only 5 days away!! I have a lot of shopping left to do but I am so grateful for this time of year to be with family, continue traditions, and to remember our Savior!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a Merry Christmas!! :)Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-42657828037425551502009-11-22T22:23:00.000-08:002009-11-22T22:44:15.957-08:00Oops!!A little update..this last week we had the opportunity to actually do something besides homework...Woo hoo!! We went out to Olive Garden for dinner and then to see the midnight showing of the Twilight movie and it was a lot of fun!! Kyle's aunt had rented out two theaters for friends and family so we didn't have to wait in any crazy lines!! It was great!! I have to admit that I was trying to stay awake the whole time during the movie but only because I was REALLY tired..but the movie was awesome!! On Friday, due to our lack of sleep we passed out at about 9 o'clock and I had to get up early so I didn't want to stay up late anyway..Saturday I had my usual clinical day..*my last one for the semester might I add) I was in the ER and I got to learn a lot!! After clinicals we just relaxed at home and got a little bored!! Then this happened!!!...

Let me explain...So I have been learning a lot as a nursing student and this weekend I had the opportunity to get a little bit more experience with starting IV's..it wasn't in the hospital or the clinic where I work...it was on Kyle!!! I just have to tell you how good of a sport he was letting me practice on him...He was so nervous to let me do it because as you can see I'm no expert! I just forgot one tiny step (a step to prevent it from bleeding all over the place!! hahah) but he is still alive and no one was seriously injured during the process...so no need to worry!! P.S. I will get better I promise I just need more practice...any other takers?? jk Anyway, we had a great weekend...they just seem to go so fast!! But I'm definitely excited for this week and Thanksgiving!! Eating all the good food, seeing family, Black Friday shopping...I can't wait!! Well, I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Day!! :)Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-7258139138283063272009-11-08T18:19:00.000-08:002009-11-08T19:40:23.472-08:00Wedding PicturesSo I told you they would be coming...here they are!!! I'm sure all of us have some great stories!! But when I first started at the branch, I had a girl come in that was so upset with how our receipts printed that she threw it back in my face and just walked off! (Needless to say...she no longer comes to the branch!)

*Spitting, smelling, too-good for anyone members: Over the past two plus years that I have worked in a branch, I have come in contact with a lot of members like this! I have had someone spit on me when they were talking, those that put their arms up on the counter and smell something FIERCE, and those that just want to make everyone feel like they are the dumbest person in the world! I will definitely not miss those members!

*"Please cash my check" (when they really mean to deposit) and all of the times when we have had to guess what the member wanted to do!!

*Hearing a Taylor Swift song 10 times a day! I like her music but they do get old!

*Another thing that get's old, "You giving out any samples today?" Classic!

I'm sure I could think of many more great stories but I thought I would end on a good note!!

Here is the good: (They were great!!) :)

*The good ol' days in the drive thru: Watching a man jump out of his pimped out gold car and run from the cops to later be handcuffed, without a shirt, and escorted by police back to his car!! (It was like an episode of COPS!! It was great.) There was the "cowgirl lady" jumping out of her car and dancing with her music blasting!! Our very VERY interesting conversations and doing the Beyonce booty-dance (Jess and Kort!! haha) without anybody hearing or seeing what we were doing! Great times!!!

*The wall of random sayings: "Well the guy's wife, is a girl", "Is there anything I can help you with tomorrow", "I'm going to go wipe", and "Oh you work and Winegar's, (mbr) uh No..it's Wingers!" They always would make my day!

*Friday nights after a REALLY LONG day and we are all delirious that we just start laughing at everything!!

*And last but not least ALL OF THE FRIENDS I HAVE MADE!! We have had great times and I will miss all of you!! Thanks for all being such awesome people to work with!!Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-47412482694544781602009-10-14T12:43:00.000-07:002009-10-14T12:59:01.409-07:00Shouldn't I Be Doing Homework??The answer is YES, but this is way more fun!! So, I have been wanting some Halloween decorations for my house but I'm very picky so I could never find anything that I liked so I thought that I would make some myself! I know they are amateur but you have to start somewhere, right?! Anyway..this is such a simple project! All I did was take two different styles of scrapbook paper and glued them to this plaque and I had some left over letters from the wedding that I just stuck on there with it...You can add ribbon or whatever else onto it! They are so easy and inexpensive! :) Now I just need to work on getting some more!!

Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6491927606567016796.post-47290770436135172042009-10-11T21:36:00.000-07:002009-10-11T22:14:19.799-07:00Bittersweet...This past week was a little bittersweet for me! As most of you know, I have been going to school for nursing for the past year and a half and I have never actually had any proper experience SO after passing my LPN exam (Woo woo!!) I decided to see if I could find a job that will give me some experience and maybe even offer a pay raise...I interviewed with a pediatric clinic right here in South Ogden and after meeting with them I thought that it would be a good transition but felt they were looking for someone with a little more experience than I had so I wasn't planning on getting the job! Anyway, a few days later they called me back and actually offered the job to me!! I was excited but at the same time was a little unsure about actually accepting! The job only offered a little more than what I was already making and I felt the experience may not be as beneficial as I wanted! After thinking a lot about it, I accepted the position!! I thought that any experience will be good and benefit me in the long run the hard part is, I'm very sad to leave America First! I have been working there for a little over 3 years and have been at the branch I'm at for over 2! I have made a lot of friends and have become very comfortable there! It's always hard to start a new job and I hope that I will have as great of coworkers as I did at America First! They are all great!! Anyway, I AM excited about this new adventure and hope that I can learn a lot at my new job! (Plus, Kyle said that I could get a new car with getting a new job and I definitely don't want to give that opportunity up!!)

And just a little bit about our fun weekend..Usually I don't do anything on the weekends so I was very excited!!!! On Friday, we were planning on going to dinner and a movie with our good friends Daniel and Terra but Daniel actually got diagnosed with swine flu so Terra just came with us! We were sad that Daniel couldn't make it (hopefully he is feeling better) but glad that we could at least see Terra!! We went to the Ogden Pizzeria and met some other friends to have some delicious pizza! After dinner, we went to Couples Retreat and it was hilarious! If you haven't seen it..I would definitely recommend it!! It made me laugh and made me want to go on a vacation to a place as beautiful as it was on the movie! (It was gorgeous!) Anyway, that was about it for my Friday night (which is usually more than I normally do, isn't that sad?!) because I had to get up early for clinicals on Saturday. But after clinicals on Saturday, I had a really long nap and finally woke up about 8pm and me and Kyle went to Olive Garden! I love going out with my husband and just sitting and talking all night! It's so much fun! On Sunday, we had our family day! We went to lunch for my grandma's birthday and then headed up to Kyle's mom's house for dinner and a game! I love being around family and all-in-all was a great ending to a good weekend! :)Kyle & Lindsayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12484461993608389109noreply@blogger.com0
