Wow! I really can't believe that the holiday season is already over! But I have to admit it was great! I have enjoyed spending time with family and friends and for having a few days off!! So here is our story of our holidays! I only have a few pictures of our Christmas tree and on Christmas morning so I apologize I'm not better at having pictures but I will try harder!! :)
Our holiday festivities started out on Christmas Eve at my aunt's house! I love Christmas Eve..my family always has the best food and they always try to really get everyone in the Christmas spirit! This year they had prime rib, cheesy potatoes, salad, and yummy desserts! After dinner, they were planning on doing a talent show and live nativity but we had to leave early! I was a little sad because we didn't get to see the show, I heard it was HILARIOUS! But we left early to go talk to Kyle's brother who was calling from Russia where he is on his mission. So we went out to Kyle's mom's house and ended up talking to him for a good hour! Then, we watched a cute little Christmas show and we headed home!
Christmas morning...
We woke up at about 8 o'clock and it was definitely weird waking up and not having my family there with me! But me and Kyle had fun!! We didn't go too crazy on Christmas this year but we both got stuff we wanted. Kyle got some new shoes and a couple shirts and a hat of his favorite football team..The Bengals!! For me, I got a chi straightner (I love it!!), a fondue pot, a piano (I opened that early because I accidentally saw it in the back of Kyle's car) , and perfume!
Kyle opening his presents!!
Me..opening mine! Kyle tried to disguise my gifts and he wrapped them all crazy!!
This is our tree!
Christmas Day..was a LONG day but SO much fun!! After opening presents on our own, we went over to my parents house to open presents with them and have breakfast! I had this great idea to make sticky buns to take over so the night before I got them all ready but I accidentally put them in the fridge instead of leaving them out on the counter to rise! (Dumb I know!!) So needless to say, they didn't work out! I was a little sad but it was okay! After my parents, we went over to Kyle's dad's house and opened presents with them!! We definitely got spoiled by our parents!! They are so kind and we were so grateful for their kindness!! Then we made the rounds to my grandma's house and my grandpa's house! Then we met up with Kyle's mom and family at the movie! We went to see Sherlock Holmes and it was really good! After the movie, we went to Kyle's grandma's house! She always has a fun way to open our gifts..I had to search through all of this paper that was rolled up and had one side that looked like 10 and 50 dollar bills...my America First experience definitely came in handy! The third roll I picked up was the real thing!! After that we stopped at another grandma's house and talked with them for a while and finally went home after 12 hours of being away! We were exhausted and we couldn't wait to just be at home to relax!! It was a great way to spend our holiday...with family!! After a few days of work..it was time for another long weekend! I love those, and it was a fabulous way to bring in the New Year!!
New Year's Eve we went over to Kyle's mom's house..she has a party mostly every year at her house and everyone brings a fun game and a snack to share and they just spend all night playing games and having fun!! We had such a good time with his family and Kyle actually won $100 in a poker game! He was pretty excited!! We didn't get home till about 3 in the morning but it was a blast! I'm excited for the New Year!! 2009 was great..I got married!! But 2010 will be even better!! Kyle has made his New Year's resolution to learn Spanish (he got Rosetta Stone for Christmas) and I am going to keep motivated about work and being there on time! (I hope I can do it!!) But anyway...sorry about the long post and I hope all of you had a great holiday and best wishes for the new year!!
